Successful Affiliate Marketers' Best Tips And Tricks

Has someone ever told you to go into a place of business and tell them that they sent you? Well, if you have, you are already familiar with affiliate marketing. Though word of mouth is important, there are other web marketing campaigns that you can use to help your business and this article provides you with the tips you need to make it happen.

If your program is proving to be profitable, you should not hesitate to inquire about making more money for the work that you do. If you have made yourself valuable to the program through the amount of sales you are generating, they will want to do anything in their power to keep you.

An efficient blog or website is going to create far more affiliate traffic than almost anything else you can do. Be sure that your site is always streamlined and easy to use. A complicated site stuffed with junk content is going to immediately turn traffic away. So, make sure the site is clean and easy to navigate.

If you try one affiliate program and do not see the results that you were hoping for, do not hesitate to try another. Check into the affiliate program you are using to see if they offer any other products, services or payment structures. Some programs offer flexible plans so do your homework and find the one that fits best.

Even though this is the Internet, remember that the customer is always right. You do not want to lose customers because you are being too solid on your stance against someone you feel is incorrect. People talk and that can result in a serious loss in profits for the business.

Blogs are a great way to make money. If you do it right, internet marketing can really pay off. Blogs are a great way to give details about a company's products. A company may not have room on their website catalog to give you the information you need. Giving first hand usage information can pay off.

Some vendors want you to make use of their tracking software, which are generally scams. Avoid any trouble by using a respected, professional tracking system.

Keep track of your affiliate program results. Successful affiliate sales come from watching what works and what doesn't. Most affiliate programs include some type of tracking function that helps you see which links are working well and which ones need to be tweaked. Vary page positions, see what products sell where, which wording helps links perform better, and use it to plan your future affiliate program strategies.

If you are interested in getting involved in web marketing it is extremely important that you educate yourself on the subject. Search out all the pertinent information that you can find. Learn the basic principles of programming, HTML, data feed manipulation, and creating custom links. The more knowledge that you have, the better off you will be.

We are all familiar with the concept of affiliate marketing, we just may not understand its formulation. Hopefully, this article has provided you with the basics you need to start your affiliate promotion campaign in as formal or informal a manner as you might like. By following the tips from this article, you are helping to ensure the success of your program.

Affiliate Marketing: Finding the Products That Sell!

With more than 24,000 products in the ClickBank, how do you know what to promote on your website? If you're like me, you want to find products with high payouts that require little marketing or promotion. This results in a high sell through even if you have only small amounts of traffic to your site. After many years of finding and marketing affiliate products, I've learned some very simple, yet powerful techniques for generating large revenues promoting others online products.

The best place to start is by visiting one of the largest collection of affiliate products, "ClickBank.com". There are others such as PayDotCom.com and Commission Junction, but I prefer clickbank as it gives me the variety I need and is simple to use.

When visiting clickbank, find the category most closely related to your website. By finding something that's relevant to your site, it increases the chances of your audience find the product(s) relevant. This segmentation increases your sell through rates.

Once you have found the proper category, you will see a listing of products. These products at listed or ranked based on a variety of factors. The ranking is important because it shows the most popular product (similar to a Google ranking). You can also sort the listing in a variety of ways. I prefer to sort by Gravity because this factor is an algorithm that essentially tells you how many of each product has been sold over the last 8 weeks. The more that are sold, the more popular the product and efficient the jump page which promotes the product. In a nutshell, the higher the gravity the EASIER it is to sell.

Also, be sure to look at the payout. If you can generate a fair revenue from selling the product $30 or more, you may consider promotion using Google or Yahoo! pay-per-click advertising. Your promotional methods are up to you but it all depends on choosing the right product.

More to come on finding and promotion affiliate products. Stay tuned....

Making Money with Article Marketing

All of you know how much I love to share tips on easy ways to make money online. I discovered this latest tip while doing some article marketing. As I was distributing one of my own articles, I found an author who claimed to have generated nearly $2,000 from a single article. Of course I was curious as to how he achieved the result because I'm such a big believer in article marketing.

My first thought was that he was using Google adwords tightly integrated into his article. I realized however that this is virtually impossible. Most article distribution sites don't allow for active links to be placed in your articles - only the "About the Author" section.

Then I read on and realized how simple, yet effective his strategy was. Here's the tip: select a topic that is closely aligned to an affiliate product you might be selling. When you create your article, make a subtle mention of a URL (either where additional information, tips, or resources can be found) and continue on with your article.

The URL that you are going to place in your article (example: http://www.google-exposed.com) can be a domain that you purchase. I suggest using Godaddy or another inexpensive provider of URLs. Now the magic happens...

Forward the domain to your affiliate URL which automatically redirects to the vendor's jump page. The end result? When users visit your URL ( ex: http://www.google-exposed.com) you will get credit for all affiliate sales because they have been redirected through your affiliate URL.

When users click on my URL for example, it has been forwarded to http://mfleisch9.bryxen1.hop.clickbank.net/. Upon this URL loading, it redirects to an affiliates jump page (SEO Elite). Each time a user purchases, I earn a commission.

Great strategy... give it a try!

Affiliates... fact or fiction!

If you're an affiliate or sell affiliate products, you know the benefits and challenges of selling online. Many businesses have made a living selling other company's products and or services and I support their efforts - this is what makes online marketing great. In fact, in my daily business, we rely heavily on affiliates to reach segments or sub-segments that are either too difficult or too expensive for us to market to.

That said, I'm learning that there are a number of affiliates that aren't affiliates at all. Rather, these sites provide little value to potential customers or the companies they promote. What I'm talking about are affiliates that are dipping into our very own marketing efforts or leveraging our brand to guide buyers through their websites or affiliate channels unnecessarily.

One example of this is when a website buys our company name (which is a trademarked term by the way) and redirects users directly to our website. This is misleading because once redirected, the "affiliate" is taking a 20% commission on all sales. Of course we come up organically for our company name, so the affiliate is in essence taking away a prospect/customer that is already ours. I just think this practice is bordering on legitimate.

There are other issues I ponder about when it comes to affiliate marketing. Let me know your thoughts...
